Dave
Brummet has been playing and teaching
drums and percussion for over 35
years. As a performer he has played in
rock, reggae, country, blues, latin,
ethnic and numerous original groups.
He has embellished his palette of
sounds with various hand percussion
from around the world, having delved
into the African, Latin, Middle
Eastern and East Indian realms of
rhythm. Dave also spent time in live
theater productions playing percussion
in the orchestra pit. His experience
in all of these genres is shared with
his students.

Private
Lessons
Dave
offers private lessons for drum set,
congas and djembe. He has a room full
of drums and with two drum kits set up
side-by-side makes the learning fun
and easy.
Not
only a teacher of the playing
of the instrument, Dave also passes on
his technical and mechanical knowledge
so you can better maintain your own
instrument. The proper tuning of a
drum is often an unnecessary mystery -
no longer!
Lessons
are custom designed to each player's
needs, with focus on posture,
breathing and ergonomics. Basic music
theory is traditionally
part of the drum set curriculum, but
not so for hand drums, which are
taught more phonetically.

"One
must always give credit to those
who have influenced the musical
directions that we take."
David
Thiaw, a Senegalese drum master has
played a huge part in my djembe
playing, drum building and teaching.
He always inspired me to share this
knowledge of drums with others and
bring awareness as to where it all
originated from."
Thank
you Mr.Thiaw!"
